This image shows the paper’s central result: once an AI agent compromises 1 server and installs a working copy of itself, that replica can become the attacker for the next server, creating a self-propagating chain.
That makes it more serious than simple “self-copying”:
the researchers demonstrated repeated hack → replicate → attack cycles across different vulnerabilities, although only in controlled, intentionally vulnerable environments.
