Alibaba Cloud launched two data centres in Brazil on Thursday, its first in South America, offering local cloud infrastructure and agentic AI services.
The facilities give Brazilian organizations lower latency and local data governance. Following Mexico, France and South Korea, Alibaba Cloud now spans 106 availability zones across 31 regions.
Alibaba has committed RMB380B ($56.5B) to AI infrastructure over three years, with half spent by June. Q2 AI cloud and compute revenue reached RMB48.4B, growing at its fastest pace in 22 quarters. China’s AI infrastructure push is going global.
