"the $30 trillion number, a way you can back into that is that businesses historically pay 10% of the value of the productivity they get out of software.
As in, they buy software, capture 90% of the surplus for themselves, and then pay 10% out to the software vendor.
Knowledge-work wages are roughly $30 trillion. They're heading toward $40 trillion, but right now they're roughly $30 trillion. So, if you can uniformly 10x the productivity of knowledge workers, and businesses pay out 10% of that, then you end up with a $30 trillion number."
