China’s first Humanoid Robot Games delivered a surprising result: robots are fast — but not always in control.

At the Beijing event, Lightning Robot from Honor finished the 100-meter race in 9.47 seconds, while Tiangong Robot clocked 9.39 seconds, both beating Usain Bolt’s 9.58-second world record.

But there was a catch: the robots struggled to stop. They crashed into safety barriers, and Tiangong Super Power lost control and ran toward the audience. Leihe collapsed and had to be carried away.
