OpenAI does not want to become the application layer of AI; it wants to be the platform that other application companies build on.

What I think most people want is a sort of single interface to their own personal, or their company's, AGI that can kind of help them with whatever they need, and then the ability, with an API, to build anything they want on top of it.

That is the platform that we should offer to the world. We're going to sell great AI at every point on the cost-performance curve. We will be the best.
