University of Memphis researchers compared two full 12-month periods in nearby Boxtown and Riverview: before operations and after operations began.
• No significant deterioration in air quality
• No significant increase in surface temperature
• Ozone, SO₂ and CO fell significantly
• PM2.5, NO₂ and formaldehyde remained statistically unchanged
• Post-operation pollutant levels generally decreased across all locations
