Grok Imagine Image 2.0 generates a 1024x1024 image in a median of 84 seconds, faster than OpenAI's GPT Image 2 (high) and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst but well behind the fastest models at its quality level

In our independent inference speed benchmarking, Grok Imagine Image 2.0 generates a 1024x1024 image at medium quality in a median of 84 seconds. That is faster than GPT Image 2 (high) at 121 seconds and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst at 114 seconds, but slower than GPT Image 2.5 Flare at 53 seconds, Microsoft's MAI-Image-2.6 at 30 seconds and Google's Nano Banana 2 at 9 seconds. The previous generation grok-imagine-image-quality returns an image in 5 seconds.

Our speed testing uses 1024x1024 outputs at “medium” quality and represents a median across several testing runs, including inference and image transfer.
