I’ve received official confirmation: the full transcript makes it clear that Sam Altman’s comments about “much more capable models coming soon” refer to models beyond (!) GPT-6 Astra.
That distinction isn’t clear in the article, but I can confirm that OpenAI already has more capable models lined up for release soon!
So @ChrisGPT gut feeling was in fact correct.
