At the end of 2025, OpenAI was still substantially larger. OpenAI officially disclosed more than $20B ARR for 2025, while Anthropic was around a $9B run rate.
Anthropic then accelerated extraordinarily quickly: it officially disclosed $14B run-rate revenue in February 2026, and more than $47B by May.
So Anthropic went from being well behind OpenAI at the end of 2025 to materially ahead during 2026.
