ByteDance has reportedly expanded a planned loan from US$20B to US$29.6B after strong bank demand. It would be Asia’s second-largest dollar loan this year—but remains unsigned.
Proceeds are mainly for general corporate purposes. Separately, ByteDance is considering up to US$70B in capital spending this year to expand AI infrastructure.
The opening margin is 68 basis points over SOFR, down from 85 on its previous offshore loan. More borrowing, at a tighter lending spread.
