Beijing is preparing to lift travel restrictions on Manus founder Xiao Hong as the AI agent startup unwinds Meta’s $2 billion acquisition.
Xiao and other executives were barred from leaving China after regulators reviewed whether the deal violated investment rules. Manus now says it will return to independent operations to meet regulatory requirements.
The reversal still needs final approval from China’s National Development and Reform Commission, which blocked the Meta deal in April.
