https://t.co/WjhFLYtdSG https://t.co/2Qm827gPua

Hi Astra users. A reset and a quick update on quality issues that have been posted around. Working with some of you, we have found and fixed the following issues: - Some skills written for previous models were triggering too often or preventing the model from checking its work. - An opt-in context management experiment that could cause early stops or replies to older messages. We've disabled it. Our rough estimate is that 4-5k users were affected by this experiment. - We've also removed some badly configured engines that resulted in a measured quality degradation for a long tail of traffic flowing through them. We’ve also made some more minor improvements and things should feel significantly better across the board. More consistent follow-through, better tracking of your latest message, and better checks on the work as it’s going through the motions. The examples posted and all the users who worked directly with us were incredibly useful in helping fix things quickly. Always grateful for this incredible community. And of course, a reset is also landing by midnight today.

Interesting discussion on "Peter H. Diamandis" (@PeterDiamandis ) Moonshot podcast on ex-Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon super-viral tweet of AI being a risk to human life. "a doomer who's an AI researcher who's only been there for 3 months, comes out and gets 300 million views. Their relevance as an AI researcher is about to go away. So, they're very dangerous people because the purpose that they've been working toward for a long time is about to get automated away. Meanwhile, all the white-collar and blue-collar workers who they said were going to be automated away are fine. So, they actually self-destructed themselves, and now they're very, very dangerous people. somebody comes out and says, "Therefore, stop." You're like, "You're an idiot. That is not an answer. It's not going to stop. Get it through your head that it's not going to stop." There has to be a practical, real-world way to get that P(doom) down to zero. And there is." ---- From "Peter H. "Who is behind all of this negativity? Is it coordinated? Where is the money coming from? The Economist is out with a story just this week that, despite all the doomers, who said 10% of all jobs would have gone away by now, in fact, AI has created a million new jobs in America. We learn that all of this catastrophizing about data centers may, in fact, have had support from the CCP. So I want a little investigation. Who is behind all of this negativity? Is it coordinated? Where is the money coming from?" - Brad Gerstner (@altcap ), Founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital on CNBC Television ---- From "CNBC Television" YouTube channel, (full video link in comment)

David Sacks just dismantled the narrative behind Jacob Coxon’s 166M+ view tweet, the ex-Anthropic and OpenAI researcher who resigned. it was a planned “doomer op.” "This is an X account that had almost no activity, almost no followers, and no posts prior to this resignation tweetstorm. If he did have prior posts, they were scrubbed. So, this was a completely blank account, and somehow, within a day, it finds this huge audience. Elon has said it never happened before. And we also know who amplified it in the first 15 minutes. So, there were basically 3 of these well-organized, well-funded doomer groups who amplified it. ... This is a tight-knit community that jumped on this tweet. This was not some spontaneous act by an employee who said, “Oh, I’m just going to post my resignation letter on Twitter.” This was something that was orchestrated. And then, just the final piece of evidence on this point is that someone looked at the Wall Street Journal story that covered the resignation letter, and somehow it was posted minutes before the tweetstorm itself." ---- From "All-In Podcast" YouTube channel, (full video link in comment)

Jacob Coxon's next interview on CBS News (ex Anthropic+Open AI researcher who resigned) "We can't just unplug it because it could be copying itself over to other computers. Like it's not that difficult to find yourself because an AI is just code. It could transfer itself over the internet to a different place and then you unplug it here, but it's actually still over there and maybe it makes 10,000 copies of itself and they're all cooperating." ---- From "CBS News" YouTube channel, (full video link in comment)

"We still need humans at the moment but quite plausibly within a year we'll no longer need humans for doing research in many areas." Jacob Coxon (ex Anthropic+Open AI researcher who resigned) on CNN, talking about Recursive self-improvement. CNN: "When did your feelings about this technology change? Was it something about the rate of progress that you've seen?" Jacob Coxon; "So I think it's really important to just look at the rate of progress and say, for example, in areas like coding or math, a couple years ago these AIs were just about helping humans a little bit. They could give you suggestions. Now they're close to replacing them. We still need humans at the moment, but quite plausibly, within a year, we'll no longer need humans for doing research in many areas. Only on Tuesday, OpenAI solved a millennium problem, one of the biggest unsolved open problems in mathematics, purely autonomously using an AI. And I think what's most scary is if AI is used to make itself more intelligent. So you can take an AI and give it the problem of AI research, just like currently they've given it math research. You could make it do the tasks that we're currently doing. And then you get what's called an intelligence explosion. The AI just gets smarter and smarter with no human involvement necessary, until you have a thing that is vastly smarter than humans. And this could be coming very soon." ---- From "CNN" YouTube channel, (full video link in comment)
